Bowdoin College Track & Field Returns to Action With Peter Slovenski Invitational

The Bowdoin College men's and women's track and field teams opened 2023 with the Peter Slovenski Invitational Saturday at Farley Field House. With a partial squad competing in the event, the Polar Bears fared well with numerous individual winners.

 

Team Scores

Women's Scores: Colby (221.5), Bowdoin (131.5), Colby-Sawyer (56), Merrimack (10)

Men's Scores: Colby (153), Bowdoin (122), Colby-Sawyer (49)

 

Women's Meet Highlights

  • Bowdoin dominated the field events on the women's side, winning four events.
  • Charlotte Hodge took the pole vault (3.45m/ 11' 3.75") while Jenna Albanese won the long jump (5.06m/ 16' 7.25").
  • Emma Gibbons placed first in the shot put (10.09m) with Peyton Lewis winning the weight throw (12.14m).
  • Bowdoin's top track performances came courtesy of runner-up finishes by Anna Yang in the 60 hurdles (10.37) and Arly Rodriguez in the 400m (1:06.04).
Men's Meet Highlights

  • Adepoju Arogundade won the 60M in 7.24 seconds and finished second in the 200M (23.18).
  • Max Russo claimed the 600M (1:22.68) while William Warlick (8.63) and Kane Demers (8.72) went 1-2 in the 60 hurdles
  • Nick Sibiryakov won the pole vault with a height of 4.45 meters (14' 7.25").
  • In the throws, Patrick Clark won the shot put (11.80m) and Jack McGinn claimed the weight throw (13.06m).

  • The Polar Bears will return to action this weekend at the Bates Invitational on January 20-21 in Lewiston.
