The Maine Men's Basketball Coaches & Writers Association (MMBCWA) weekly awards have been announced and Saint Joseph's College freshman guard John Paul Frazier (York, Maine)
Frazier averaged 15.0 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 52.6% (10-19) from the floor and 52.9% (9-17) from three-point range in a pair of GNAC victories last week. The freshman guard netted 18 points with seven boards in a 91-81 triumph over Anna Maria on Tuesday and added 12 points with six rebounds in an 80-64 win over Rivier on Saturday.
Through 13 games, Frazier is averaging 12.0 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 54.3% (57-105) from the field, 48.6% (34-70) from three-point land, and 63.6% (7-11) from the free throw line. He currently leads the team in field goal and three-point shooting percentages and three-pointers made and ranks third on the squad in scoring average.
For Frazier, the MMBCWA weekly award is the second of his young career. His first Rookie of the Week honor was announced on November 22nd.
