The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been announced and Saint Joseph's College senior Trevor Flanagan (Monmouth, Maine) has been chosen as the GNAC Golfer of the Week for the third time this fall.
At the two-day, 36-hole NEIGA Championship at the Captains Course in Brewster, Mass. this past weekend, Flanagan was tops among GNAC golfers - and finished tied for 13th overall - with a 148 (72-76) card, the lowest score ever posted by an SJC golfer in the annual New England Championship event. The previous low of 150 was posted by Michael Caron '17 in the 2013 NEIGA Championship.
The impressive effort capped an incredible fall season for Flanagan, who in 13 rounds did not post a score higher than 78 and registered a 75.4 round average, the fifth lowest in program history, while notching four Medalist honors as a senior.
Saint Joseph's, the 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Champions, earned an automatic qualifier to the 2023 NCAA Division III Tournament, which will be played at the Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky starting on May 16th. Head Coach Jason Riley '16 is working to finalize the Monks' 2023 spring schedule in preparation for the team's second-consecutive national tourney appearance.
