The Bowdoin College men's golf team took its best-ever finish at Middlebury's Duke Nelson Invitational this weekend, earning a sixth-place showing in a deep field of 24 of the best teams from the region.
Weekend Highlights
- Bowdoin finished with a two-day total of 601 (305-296), improving by nine shots on day two and jumping nine spots in the field compared to last year's 15th-place showing.
- Bowdoin first-year George Fahey made a splash in his collegiate debut, carding a 75-69-144 to take fourth place individually in the tournament.
- Liam Jachetta was 22nd with a 77-74-151 as Bowdoin's second-best scorer of the weekend. Ned Dean (76-78) and Jack Barned (77-77) were both 42nd with matching 154's, followed closely by Oscar Wen's 79-76-155.
- Bowdoin heads to Williams next weekend for the Williams Fall Invitational hosted by Taconic Golf Club.
