Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Head Softball Coach Chris Caswell and the Athletic Department has named Ashley Trzesiara Assistant Softball Coach, effective immediately.
Previous to SMCC, Trzesiara accrued 13 years of coaching experience in the New Hampshire travel ranks most notably with the Salem Blue Devils, Northeast Hurricanes, U18 Showcase Plex, U18 Southern NH Huskies Showcase, and most recently with the Granite State Elite U18 Travel and U16 National Teams.
Throughout, Trzesiara has become a knowledgeable and experienced hitting coach to service college-level players at Hesser College, Merrimack High School, Nashua South High School, and Manchester Central High School.
Trzesiara graduated from Mount Anthony Union High School (Bennington, Vt.) and later attended Hesser College (Manchester, N.H.) where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice (2008). At Hesser, Trzesiara played three seasons. She was named a United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) First Team All-American and was crowned a two-time Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) champion.
Trzesiara stated, “When I was asked by Coach Caswell to join him this season, I was more than eager to say yes. Being a former YSCC athlete and playing on this field brought back so many incredible memories. The pride of being a SeaWolf runs deep and I can't wait to be apart of the tradition moving forward. I'm incredibly honored and excited to work with these young women, and look forward to a long career here at SMCC."
Caswell commented, “I am thrilled to have Coach Ashley join our program and be an integral part of our SeaWolves family! From her playing experience to her years of coaching, she brings a lot to the table! She has an immense amount of knowledge to share and will, without a doubt, help us improve in both offense and defense. Coach Ashley has an infectious personality and will bring a measure of energy and excitement to the team.”
