The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Foundation and the SeaWolves Athletic Club teamed up with title sponsor Sodexo Dining Services to put on the 18th annual SMCC Athletics Golf Tournament Fundraiser at Purpoodock Golf Club on Monday, June 20.
It’s the mission of SMCC Athletics to continuously better the student-athlete experience, thus all of the proceeds help fund the athletic program offerings at the College, in particular capital improvements to athletic facilities. This year’s tournament operated as a two-flight event with a full field of 37 teams. Associate Dean of Athletics and Alumni Affairs Matt Richards stated, “I’d like to thank our corporate sponsors, the staff at Purpoodock Golf Club, and the 154 golfers that came out for this event. This golf tournament is the SeaWolves Athletic Club’s signature fundraiser in support SMCC Athletics; and we had a wonderful day on the course with many alumni, family, friends, and business supporters of the program. We hope to see you on the course next year!”
