NSO Orientation Leader Christina Balsamo knows a thing or two about what it takes to help your transition from high school and your home town to an official college student. The nursing major shared her thoughts on what you might not think to bring along with you.
"Things I didn't think to bring to college but came in handy included stuff like extension cords and storage ottomans. But looking back, one of the most important things I can think to bring is pictures from home. That first semester your freshman year is a big adjustment for everyone. Being able to see familiar faces and family can help keep spirits up! Adjusting to college my freshman year had a learning curve to it. What really helped me through it was my freshman year RAs. Every RA has been through the freshman experience, so they can do a really good job talking with you and helping you through a rough time. At the end of the day, your RA always want whats best for you and all of their residents." - Christina Balsamo '24
