The Bowdoin men's hockey team allowed three third period goals en route to a 5-2 setback at Trinity on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Polar Bears were unable to collect a win this weekend and return to Maine with an 8-4-1 (4-4-1 NESCAC) record. The Bantams are 9-5-0 (6-2-0 NESCAC) on the season.

 

Game Highlights

  • Bowdoin fell behind 2-0 as the Bantams scored under five minutes into action during both the first and second periods.
  • Less than two minutes after Trinity's second goal, Bowdoin answered to make it 2-1. Albert Washco found Jimmy Duffy to cut the lead in half.
  • The duo combined again at 4:56 in the third period to tie the game.
  • Special teams took over for Trinity in the third. The Bantams scored a go-ahead power play goal followed by two short-handed empty-netters in the final minute.

By the Numbers

  • Both teams earned two power play opportunities, with the Bantams converting on one.
  • Alex Kozic made 37 saves for Bowdoin.
  • Devon Bobak made 28 stops for the Bantams.
