On the above date and time, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to 35 Sebago Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash. A single vehicle left the roadway right and severed a utility pole dropping it in the roadway. The pole contained a transformer; power is out in the area.
Robert Sanborn (42), of Norway was operating a 2021 Dodge Ram 3500 registered to the Truman Corporation when he left the roadway and struck the telephone pole, snapping it and rolling the truck onto its side. Sanborn, the only occupant, was uninjured in the crash and evaluated at the scene.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
CMP is on scene and Sebago Road (Rt. 11) is closed between Carl Burnell Road and Bridgton Road; it will remain closed for several hours while the scene is cleared and power is restored.
