North Yarmouth Fire Rescue Maine EMS Awards 2022

Congrats to all that have gone above and beyond.

Maine EMS is excited to celebrate the incredible achievements of this year's Maine EMS Award recipients. Collectively, they have contributed 100s of years to the Maine EMS system and represent some of our system's most incredible clinicians. In place of a ceremony at the Hall of Flags at the State Capitol this year, members of the Maine EMS Board and staff will be presenting the EMS awards locally to each of the awardees. Information will be available in the next few weeks regarding attending those ceremonies. The listing below details the individuals being recognized for the respective awards:

Governor's Award

Jon Powers

This award is conferred for exceptional contribution to the EMS system at the state, national, or system-wide level. The candidate should have demonstrated involvement and contribution in multiple areas of EMS activity (i.e., system development, education, administration, public education, quality/process improvement, etc.).

EMS Excellence Award

Lisa Bennett

Theresa Cousins

Rod Kohen

This award is conferred for contribution to the EMS system at the regional or state level. The candidate should have demonstrated involvement and significant contribution in one or more areas of EMS activity (i.e., system development, education, administration, public education, quality/process improvement, etc.).

Lifetime Achievement Award

George Farris, Jr.

Michael Hartford

William Hesketh (post-humous)

Margaret Houghton

Sylvia Hull

John Kooistra

Catherine "Buzz" Masters

This award is conferred for extensive involvement with EMS in Maine for at least ten years, consistently performing above and beyond expectations in system development, patient care, service involvement, and/or community involvement.

Jackie Pelletier 

This award is conferred for contributions to the EMS system at the local or regional level. The candidate should have demonstrated involvement and contribution in one or more areas of EMS activity.

Maine EMS is excited to celebrate these incredible individuals as well as each and every clinician practicing throughout the State of Maine on a daily basis. Thank you for your continued service to the residents and visitors of the State of Maine.
