On January 22, 2025, Pingree criticized attempts to reinterpret the events of January 6th as a "peaceful protest" or a “day of love.” She stated: "To call January 6th a 'peaceful protest' or a 'day of love' is simply delusional. We cannot let President Trump and the Republican Party rewrite history."
In another post on the same day, she highlighted the violence witnessed during the Capitol insurrection and criticized former President Trump's decision to pardon participants. She remarked: "We all watched the violence live on TV. We watched as insurrectionists stormed the Capitol, breaking down doors, tasing police officers and beating them bloody with flag poles. Now, President Trump is letting 1,500 of those who participated off the hook."
On January 23, 2025, Pingree questioned motives behind energy policy decisions that could impact electric grid capacity. She posed: "So, are they really worried about straining the electric grid, or do they just want to line the pockets of Big Tech and Big Oil?"
