Chellie Pingree, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Maine's 1st district, has been vocal on several key issues in recent tweets. Serving since 2009 after replacing Tom Allen, Pingree has addressed matters ranging from presidential pardons to renewable energy and healthcare costs.

On January 21, 2025, Pingree commented on former President Trump's pardoning of individuals involved in the January 6th insurrection. She stated, "President Trump also pardoned 1,500 people involved in the violent January 6th insurrection—including some from Maine. People who stormed the Capitol, assaulted police officers, and tried to disrupt the democratic process."

The following day, January 22, she discussed Maine's leadership in wind energy. Pingree remarked that "Maine is now a leader in wind energy. The benefits have been significant." She criticized opposition to offshore wind projects as "incredibly shortsighted" and "based on bad information," emphasizing that the risks associated with turbines are minimal compared to fossil fuels.

Later that day, Pingree questioned President Trump's actions regarding drug pricing. She expressed concern over an executive order impacting affordable medication access by saying: "President Trump said he would lower costs for Americans. Tell me: How does revoking a decision to *lower* drug costs achieve that?" She noted that this decision puts affordable generic drugs and new gene therapies at risk.
