Chellie Pingree, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Maine's 1st district, recently shared her views on international conflicts through a series of tweets. Serving in Congress since 2009, Pingree has consistently voiced her opinions on foreign policy and humanitarian issues.

On November 27, 2024, Pingree expressed her concern over the use of American arms in Gaza. She stated, "It is sickening to see, day after day, American arms being used in a reckless and illegal manner in Gaza. The Biden Administration must change its policy on US leverage to achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza." Pingree also conveyed her hope for an end to the ongoing conflict.

In another tweet on the same date, she urged Israel to intensify diplomatic efforts regarding Gaza. She noted that "Israel must now apply the same diplomatic effort to Gaza—and do so immediately." Additionally, she called for Hamas and Israeli negotiators to work towards releasing hostages and providing humanitarian aid.

Pingree also commented on the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel with cautious optimism. On November 27, 2024, she mentioned being "guardedly hopeful about the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel." She praised Israel's military aim to re-establish a demilitarized zone as per UN Security Council Resolution 1701 but emphasized that a permanent ceasefire is essential.
