Chellie Pingree, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Maine's 1st district, has been vocal about recent legislative developments through her social media posts. Her tweets highlight key issues and legislative actions that are significant to her constituents and the broader national discourse.

On November 25, 2024, Pingree expressed support for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, emphasizing its impact on Maine. She highlighted the Environmental Protection Agency's new initiative aimed at helping small and disadvantaged communities remove PFAS from water supplies. "Everyone deserves safe water," she stated, noting that this initiative brings the goal of safe water closer to reality.

In a tweet dated November 26, 2024, Pingree criticized a bill allowing the President to unilaterally decide the fate of organizations including nonprofits. She stated that providers of reproductive care, advocates for ceasefire in Gaza, and civil liberties groups could be targets under this legislation. She voiced her opposition by voting against what she termed an "awful bill."

On the same day, Pingree addressed the House's passage of HR 9495 in another tweet. The bill would permit the Treasury Secretary to penalize nonprofits accused of supporting terrorism. Pingree clarified that supporting terrorism is already a crime and expressed concern over granting unchecked authority to the President regarding this matter.
