The Saint Joseph's College field hockey program is one of 59 NCAA DIII teams to earn 2022 NFHCA Division III National Academic Team honors.
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) presents the award to those institutions that achieve a minimum GPA of 3.5 during the first semester of the 2022-23 academic year. Saint Joseph's has now claimed the NFHCA academic honor on 12 occasions.
Earlier this month the Monks featured 10 players on the NFHCA National Academic squad, an honor bestowed up collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year.
Seniors Aimee Adams (Gardiner, Maine), Molly McCluskey (Orono, Maine), Megan Quirion (Oakland, Maine), and Anna Walker (Scarborough, Maine), sophomore Kassidy Collins (Gardiner, Maine), and freshmen Paige DeMascio (Greene, Maine), Emilia Galimberti (Wolfeboro, N.H.), Audra Gearin (Salisbury, Mass.), Kienna Haley (Scarborough, Maine), and Sadie Tirrell (Naples, Maine) garnered NFHCA All-Academic Squad honors, annouced on February 9th.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology posted the highest team GPA with a mark of 3.86. Swarthmore College came in second with a team-average 3.83. NCAA runners-up Johns Hopkins University came in third with a 3.81 team average.
