Bowdoin College Indoor Track & Field Teams Post Season Bests and D3NE Qualifying Marks at BU

The Bowdoin College indoor track & field teams posted a number of impressive finishes at the 2023 Boston University Valentine Invitational last weekend. In a field that included professionals, Olympians, and Division I athletes, the Polar Bears recorded several notable marks as the indoor season enters its final stretch.

 Women's Meet Highlights

  • Cianna O'Flaherty made her season-debut in the 400m, posting a time of 58.6 to meet D3NE qualifying standard and ranked top-50 in NCAA.
  • Emma Noel also earned D3 New England qualifying in the 800m (2:24.7) in her season debut at the distance while Lex Davis did the same in the 1000m (3:08.81).
  • Leila Trummel posted her season-best in the mile (4:59.30), with her second sub-five minute time while Lauren Traum also earned D3 New England qualification in the event (5:11.25)
  • Abby Mueller earned D3 NE qualification in the her season debut in the 5k (18:24.96)
  • Charlotte Hodge took second place overall in the pole vault, reaching a height of 3.60m.
Men's Meet Highlights

  • Ajay Olson posted a big season best in the 200m (21.69), which ranks him top-15 in NCAA. Adepoju Arogundade moved up to 8th in program history with his time (22.74).
  • Jared Joyce posted a personal best in the indoor 400 (49.62), moving up to 4th in program history
  • Brooks Peters posted a career-best and D3 NE qualifying mark in the mile, moving into 8th on Bowdoin's all-time list (4:15.41) while John Auer earned a personal best and D3NE time in 4:17.09.
  • Sam Angevine crushed his indoor career best by 37 seconds in the 5k (14:46.92), earning D3 NE qualification and moving up to 4th on the program's all-time list.
