Saint Joseph's College (16-4, 11-1 GNAC) rolled past Norwich University (8-13, 4-10 GNAC), 65-25, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's basketball contest at the Harold Alfond Center on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

For the second time in as many games, the Monks employed suffocating defense and a quick offensive start to put the contest away early. St. Joe's kicked off the GNAC tilt on a 7-0 run and exited the first quarter with a 20-7 lead after shooting 80% (8-10) from the floor in the opening frame.

The SJC shooters cooled in the second stanza but carried a 33-13 cushion into intermission and maintained at least a 20-point advantage for the remainder of the afternoon.

STATS OF THE GAME:

Saint Joseph's scored 24 points off 27 Norwich turnovers and committed only 13 turnovers in the victory…The Monks went 15-for-15 from the FT line and held the Cadets to an 0-for-11 shooting performance from beyond the arc.
