The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women’s basketball team rolled to a Sunday victory over conference foe Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) 90-32.

The Seawolves took an early lead in the first quarter, outscoring ACPHS 15-4. From there the ladies only increased their lead, pouring on 28 in the second quarter compared to ACPHS’ eight. As a team, the Seawolves performed well, far surpassing their average game steals, rebounds, and blocks.

Junior Captain Ashleigh Mathisen (Portland, Maine) was the top scorer for SMCC, putting up 15 points (making four 3-point shots). First-year Jasmine Aloisio (South Berwick, Maine) picked up 12 points and 16 rebounds, and first-year Kaiyla Delisle (Cumberland, Maine) chipped in 14 points, adding seven rebounds as well as four steals.

ACPHS’ top player of the game was Dida Slusrasek, who put up 10 points and 8 rebounds for the Panthers.

This win improves SMCC’s record to 13-4 overall and 8-1 in league action.
