The Bowdoin men's squash team won two of three matches in a successful home-opening weekend at the Lubin Family Squash Center. The Polar Bears sandwiched wins over Conn. College (9-0) and Navy (5-4) around a loss to Franklin & Marshall (6-3) and stand at 3-2 on the season following this weekend's action.
Weekend Highlights
- The 21st-ranked Polar Bears earned a clean sweep against the 32nd-ranked Camels on Saturday morning, as all nine players carded 3-0 wins in the victory.
- Bowdoin couldn't recover from an early deficit against no. 15 Franklin & Marshall in the afternoon on Saturday, but got wins from Jack Winston (3-0), Aryan Singh (3-1) and Joseph French (3-2) in the setback.
- The Polar Bears capped their weekend with a 5-4 win over the 25th-ranked Naval Academy, getting wins from Winston (3-0), Henry Somerby (3-1), French (3-2) and Justin Barr (3-0) along with a walkover at the number nine spot to seal the win.
- Winston and French led the way for Bowdoin over the weekend, going 3-0 in the trio of matches.
- Bowdoin will return to action on Wednesday evening when they host 22nd-ranked Bates at the Lubin Center at 6:00 p.m.
