Howard Palmer received the firefighter of the year award. Howard is a paramedic/firefighter and has been with the department since 2016. During his time here, he has been committed to helping with the development and mentorship of all those on the department. This year he was instrumental in training our live in students to ensure they were ready for testing for their firefighter 1&2 certification. Howard also came to the station numerous times on his off duty time to help train our students and ensure they were prepared for testing.
Raymond Woodcock received the rookie of the year award. When Raymond graduated from high school he was brought on as a firefighter from his years of being a junior firefighter. Since his graduation he has obtained his Maine Basic Firefighter certification and he responds to numerous fire and EMS calls consistently.
Other awards given were 1, 5, 10, 25, 35, and 50 year service pins.
It was an honor and a privilege to present all the awards. We could not provide the services to this town without everyone’s dedication
Respectfully Chief Payson
