Incident:
On the above date and approximate time the Sheriff’s Office, along with Raymond Fire/ Rescue, responded to the access road at Tassel Top Beach in Raymond for a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian crash.
A grey 2008 GMC Acadia was being operated by Jose Gomez, 31 from EL Salvador, he was traveling down the hill on the paved portion of roadway. The GMC Acadia struck two pedestrians who were walking down the roadway. The GMC Acadia continued down the hill, driving over one of the victims.
Christina Amoroso, 42, of Windham was transported to Maine Medical Center for serious injuries. Megan Anderson, 21, of Sebring Florida, was transported to Maine Medical Center for minor injuries.
Jose Gomez was arrested and transported to the Cumberland County Jail. He was charged with reckless conduct and OUI-Causing serious bodily injury.
Bail is to be set by a bail commissioner (Pending as of this release)
There was no damage to the GMC Acadia.
