At 14:26 North Yarmouth B-57, Service 54, UTV 58, and Tank 53 dispatched to 68 West Pownal Road for a lawn tractor on fire with the fire spreading to the grass and tree around it.
Chief 501 added E-52 to the box. E-52 responded with a crew of 2, B-57 with a crew of 2 and Tank-53 with a crew of 1. Captain 504 arrived on the scene to find a well involved lawn tractor on fire with extension to the grass and a tree around the tractor. Captain 504 attempted to extinguish the tractor fire and the lawn with his water extinguisher.
E-52 arrived on scene to find the grass fire nocked down and the lawn tractor well involved. Chief 501 assumed command. E-52 company deployed a 1-3/4" CAFS handline to extinguish and over haul the fire. Brush 57 arrived to provide a block and manpower to assist E-52 company. Fire was extinguished and overhauled. Cause of the fire is under investigation. E-52 was tied up for about 30 minutes. All companies were back in service at 15:12 with command terminated.
