Saint Joseph's College of Maine NSO Orientation Leader Sophia Viger

085e

Today we're giving you one final NSO Orientation Leader introduction. We can't wait to see you here on campus next week! Everyone say hello to Sophia Viger. The biology and secondary education major looked back at her own freshmen year and is here with some advice she wish she got.

"When I was a first year student the best piece of advice someone could have given me would have been “do not be afraid to reinvent yourself”. College is a new place filled with people who know nothing about you, so its a great opportunity to try something new that you never thought you would be able to do. Throughout my life I was a competitive gymnast, and the time commitment that it required didn't leave much time for extracurricular activities. Once at SJC I decided to step out of my comfort zone and join the dance team, despite having very little experience. I am happy to say that I'm now one of the captains of the dance team! I also took a leap (no pun intended) and applied to be a peer mentor. Now I'm a student leader for other first year students. To this day I continue to make the most of as many opportunities as I can because I want to make the most out of my college career." - Sophia Viger '24
