40 percent of applicants to Birthwise Midwifery School were admitted for fall 2018

At Birthwise Midwifery School, 70 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 100 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The two-year private for-profit institution in Bridgton enrolled 81 students in fall 2018, all in undergraduate programs, data shows. No undergraduates were transferred from another college or university.

100 percent of undergraduates are residents of Maine.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (68 percent) and Black or African American (11 percent).

The school admitted 40 percent of the 10 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 100 percent enrolled.
