61 percent of applicants to Maine College of Art were admitted for fall 2018

At Maine College of Art, 91 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 70 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Portland enrolled 462 students in fall 2018, including 395 in undergraduate and 67 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

29 percent of undergraduates are residents of Maine, and 71 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (73 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (7 percent).

The school admitted 61 percent of the 888 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 18 percent enrolled.
