North Yarmouth Fire Rescue Live Fire Trainings Building

North Yarmouth Fire Rescue Live Fire Trainings Building

Over the past few weeks, you may have seen us and our apparatus at residence on Sligo Road. Starting March 1st, North Yarmouth Fire hosted a regional Maine Basic Firefighter program. We have 21 members from the following agencies participating in this program: Bridgeton (2), Gray (1), Falmouth (5), New Gloucester (3), North Yarmouth (5), Raymond (1), Windham (3), and Yarmouth (1).

North Yarmouth Members have been prepping the building to allow for live fire trainings coming up. We are currently working on the building to bring it to the standards in which we are required to follow for live-fire trainings. We have also submitted all the required documentation with Maine DEP for approval for us to proceed with the training.

We have met with DEP and have a tentative date to proceed with live fire evolutions. We will continue working on the building over the next week to finish all the required preparation. We have set a tentative date for the training on Sunday June 5th. During that time frame, Sligo will be down to one lane in the area of the training. (Between 600-680 Sligo Road)

Thank you to the owner of the property for this valuable training opportunity. We would also like to thank all the neighbors that have stopped by the building while we have been working there. We appreciate all the support we have received from the neighbors that have enquired about the project.
