Chellie Pingree, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Maine’s 1st district, has recently shared insights and information through her social media posts. The tweets cover topics ranging from clean energy savings to online shopping scams.

On December 3, 2024, Pingree urged constituents to take advantage of the Inflation Reduction Act tax credits for solar energy, electric vehicles (EVs), and heat pumps. She warned that former President Trump intends to “terminate” these credits, which she argues would negatively impact Mainers. She encouraged residents to secure these savings for both their homes and the future of Maine. “Don’t let the sun set on clean energy savings! Inflation Reduction Act tax credits make solar, EVs, and heat pumps affordable. But Trump wants to ‘terminate’ them. That’s bad for Mainers. Lock in these savings for your home—and Maine’s future—while you still can.”

In another tweet on December 4, 2024, Pingree highlighted the increasing prevalence of online scams amid the growth of online shopping. She referenced an IRS toolkit designed to educate individuals about common “phishing” scams and advised caution when clicking links unless they are confirmed as coming from trusted sources. “While online shopping continues to grow in popularity, so has the prevalence of online scammers. This IRS toolkit explains some of the more common ‘phishing’ scams. Remember: Don’t click on any link unless you’re 100% sure it’s from a trusted source!”
